Abstract
In a social context characterized by a strong demand of education, there emerges the need for new professional profiles and above all for a reassessment of the educator’s role, skills and duties. In particular, multiple aspects point to the need for professionals with higher-order skills that allow them to deal with complexity, to work together towards organizational and managerial changes, and to promote research activities. Chief among these skills are certainly those related to working in team, monitoring and supervising as well as promoting action research activities. These are sup- posed to enhance the educator’s ability to deal with complex educational situations, but above all to expand his/her knowledge and to promote social and organizational change processes.
