Abstract
Ovid’s objective in the Metamorphoses is the reproduction of reality through his writing. There are important connections in particular with Lucretius’ De rerum natura and with some Greek theories about rhetoric and language. A good exemplification could derive from his use of word-repetition and from some cases of iconic verses. Inter- and intratextuality play a key-role.
