Abstract
Thirty years after the Fourth World Conference on Women and the release of the Beijing Platform for Action, Unicef has published the report Girl Goals: What has changed for girls? Adolescent girls' rights over 30 years and tries to paint a picture of the progress, which is undoubted, and the much that remains to be done. Literacy among women has halved, but although the number of girls in regular education has never been higher, it is estimated that those still without access to schooling number 122 million, and that one in four do not finish high school. That education can make a difference in advancing the status of women was written in the late 18th century by Mary Wollstonecraft, now considered the mother of modern feminism. This article explores her contribution on this issue
