Abstract
The "Petit Robert" electronic version offers a list of 1200 Italianisms. Its consultation leads to the cultural analysis of such words and shows the richness of their definitions, the analogical references, the quotations and etymological information. A lot of Italian words have entered French throughout the centuries, which can be found nowadays as loans, orthographical and / or phonetic adaptations, calques, or semantic loans. These Italianisms refer to several areas that are explored in this paper.
