Abstract

This paper deals with some aspects of death in war in antiquity, focusing in particular on the Greek world: legitimacy of killing in war, military confrontation models, wounds types to which fighters were exposed, massacres of soldiers and of civilians, treatment of prisoners of war, public opinion reactions to the horrors of war.
