Abstract
A school, like every complex organisation, is a place in which relationshipsplay a fundamental role, and where the quality of the climate of relation-ships has a profound influence on the wellbeing of the individualsinvolved, whether pupils or teachers. Moreover, in schools in particularthe quality of relationships and communications is closely connected to theeffectiveness of the educational activity taking place. Attention paid to theweb of relationships between teachers and pupils is important, therefore,not just for its utility value, but because it enables us to get to the veryheart of education and to the knowledge that without relationships there isno education.
