Abstract
This article locates the cultural origins of robotics in the assignment of a presence and a voice to the implicit author of the earliest figurative textual productions of the Upper Palaeolithic, resulting from the integration of performative and discursive practices on the one hand, and of inscribing signs on a surface on the other.
