Abstract
This article aims to study the formal and structural organization of Mexican\r\nexvotos according to semiotic theory. It seeks to appreciate the role of the sick, particularly\r\nwomen, in practices surrounding the body, physical ailments, and healing processes, as\r\nwell as family dynamics. The relationship between the artwork and external reality will\r\nbe emphasized in terms of critical and analytical elaboration.
