Abstract

A short survey of the administrative evolution of Roman Africa since 146 B.C. to the Vandal conquest: Roman Africa flourished through a special relationship with Rome, Spain and the Western (Latin) Empire and native people became integrated in the Roman system; after the Vandal conquest and until the Arab invasion they were back to being a passive subject of history.
