Abstract
The essay presents the results of a national research about training assessment. These results
are investigated through formative projects and questionnaires filled out by the reporting
members of formative trainings in 24 national voluntary organizations working in the field of
chronic disease. The text analyzes the legitimacy of evaluating with the volunteers, the advantage
of their presence/absence in the projects, the trainers’ aims by evaluating and the means chosen
to evaluate. From the 24 analyzed cases it is possible to notice –even though with significant differences
among the 24 selected associations- a considerable (although often not formalized) educational
effort in training assessment and reflective processes, a deep coherence with the aims of the
voluntary associations and their mission and an amazing variety of methods and assessment
techniques.
