Abstract
In this paper we put forward some theoretical and applied reflections on the role of terminology in teaching and learning languages.
By suggesting examples in the context of teaching Italian for foreigners, we discuss the possible applications of terminology research on lexicographical inventories and corpora of specialized texts, in the perspective of both teaching languages for specific purposes and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methodology, which consists in the integration of language teaching and learning with subject content teaching and learning.
