Abstract
The Narrative Exposure Therapy: an intervention on children earthquake victims in Abruzzo. Following the devastating earthquake that struck Abruzzo on the 6th April of 2009, the Catholic University of Sacred Heart of Milan, Faculty of Psychology has proposed a support to child victims of natural disaster. The project, started in the refugee camp of Paganica 5, was inspired by the theoretical basis and methodology that defines the NET (Narrative Exposure Therapy) a standardized approach for short-term treatment of PTSD. The use of KIDNET (version for children) in the form of a game in various meetings called "life line", has been found a methodology particularly suitable and effective in the context of post-earthquake emergency to reduce in a short time the psycho-physiological activation of children, to make a cognitive restructuring experience within the self-concept and to normalize the emotional responses associated to traumatic event.
