Abstract

As for the secrets of the legend of the Grail, the criticism has investigated the silence of Perceval, but not the silence of the King Fisherman. Now, this character must know at least some of these secrets: he can not ignore in any way that the Grail contains a host that is brought to his father, who is in the castle. His silence reveals a rude and dismissive attitude. The silence of Perceval depends on this, probably. A contemporary novel by a British writer, Scarlett Thomas, entitled Our Tragic Universe, which seems to refer implicitly to the Conte du Graal of Chrétien de Troyes as a sub-texte, could indirectly confirm this new interpretation
