Abstract
A description of how the feature film "The Big Short" (2015) directed by Adam McKay, describes and illustrate the mechanics of the financial crisis of 2008. Emphasis is on how the screenplay illustrates some complex financial issues, and how the empathy of the viewer is directed towards some of the main characters of the film
