Abstract
This paper presents the results of an action-research project sponsored by ISPESL. The aim of the work was to develop knowledge on new forms and settings for training programs on health and safety at work in organizational contexts. Two pilot studies were carried out to define new training approaches to health and safety. The principal finding in the study outline the difficulty of taking a distance from a purely technical and normative view of health and safety. What emerges is that top managers should play an important and strategic role in developing a responsible approach towards safety, organizational life quality and well being at work
