Abstract
Among the various factors shaping individuals’ psychological wellbeing, one’s financial condition plays a key role. Financial education represents a valid tool to increase citizen’s financial wellbeing, as it promotes knowledge and competences useful in taking aware financial decisions. The present study aims at evaluating the effectiveness of a financial education program for a sample of 132 university students. For this purpose, a financial literacy test was administered (before/after intervention), which demonstrated the effectiveness of the program in increasing financial knowledge. The program helped to bridge the initial gender gap in terms of knowledge, but not in relation to perceived financial self-efficacy.
