title = "La distruzione di Milano nella memoria comunale (secc. XII-XIII)",
abstract = "The article shows how the destruction of Milan was the only event of Italian politics of the emperor Frederick I Barbarossa to being preserved in local memory. That is clear in local legal proceedings: this event played a significant role in the construction of the collective memory. One can therefore speak of a close relationship between the notarial practice and the emergence of a common memory. Therefore, not only the historical works of historians, but also the public and private documents allow to access to the local memory. The article also notes that iudices of Milan, during the contest/contrast with the emperor, between 1158 and 1183 to 1185, did not exercise their role as imperial judges. This element provides further evidence of the interaction between the urban and historical image of the city administration.",
