Abstract
The comprehension of temporal and causal sequences of complex events were investigated in a sample of 5-year-old children. the script model represented the theoretical frame of reference. children were presented with a specially created test, consisting of four sub-texts: reconstruction of temporal and causal picture sequences, completion of temporal and causal picture sequences. The experiment was carried out during a period of five months and was performed in three separate phases: pre-test, trining, and post-test. results showed a satisfying reliability of the test and supported the validity and effectiveness of the psoposed training. children were better in the inferences of consequences rather than causes. Besides, results highlighted the importance of the representation of complex events for the development of specific cognitive abilities.
