Abstract
Emotions and feelings are deeply involved in educational contexts and relationships. The capacity of managing emotions represents for the professionals of education a fundamental tool, which allows them to face difficult situations in a productive way. In basic training and continuing education of teachers and social educators a specific attention to emotional competences is required. Phenomenology of emotional life provides useful theoretical and practical tools in order to develop deep insight of emotional phenomena and empathic understanding.
