Abstract
The essay relates Ketty La Rocca's interest in the theme, much practised by feminism, of the Great Mother with the interpretation of Erich Neumann, Jung's pupil, who gave a psychological interpretation of the theme of the ancient myth of the Mother Goddess. The latter would be the constitutive element of the collective unconscious in which both the male and female parts are present indistinctly. To such an interpretation of the duplicity of male and female in the unity of the archetype, one could read the feminism of Ketty La Rocca.
