Abstract
The islamic radicalism has been generally considered as a return to the 'real' 'original' islam. On the contrary, it represents a reaction to modernity. From this perspective it is truly 'modern'; its main aim is to shape moderntiy in a way it might be adaptable to their interpretation of islam.
