Abstract
The research was conducted on 40,000 teachers involved in a blended instruction course delivered through Puntoedu environment a platform dedicated to teachers and devised to support professional learning activities
Different focus of the investigation are discussed: styles and modalities of participation of students and online tutors, the phenomenon of lurking in the forums, e-moderation activities.
The study allowed the identification of quantitative indices about participation and lurking, useful to read and evaluate the processes of online learning.
