Abstract
the essay presents the 4 main issues rising from the increase of number of pupils with migrant backgorund within the Italian school system. 1) the territorial concentration of immigrant pupils; 2) the lack of human and didactic resources to devote to the reception of newcomers; 3) inequalities between native and immigrant students; 4)the need of a better preparation of teachers to diversity management.
