The essay is planned to analyze the strategies representing the world of young people put in practice by the programme "Amici", which, for its long lasting life (first edition 1992), for the steadiness of its format and the birth of an evening version, plays a particularly significant role among programmes relying on young people as subject and objects. Starting with the analysis of the representation modalities of the main characters and their mutual relations set up by the dynamic communication of the talk-show, we tried to find out which are the values supporting such use of television. In the programme is included an idea of television that beside its function of relation instrument among the young, by means of a persuading speech mechanismm there's mainly a therapeutic function according to which by simply voicing the problem and sharing it with others it allow not to solve it, but to unblock an emotional state. We can come to the conclusion that the image of youth most clearly emerging from the subsequent episodes is above all a dramatic image of a youth as a place of conflicts, discomforts, of tangles of emotions, for which television works out not an attempt of solution, but exorcizing rites.
