Abstract
Since its foundation in 2017, the Italian Society for the Study of the Historical-\r\nEducational Heritage (SIPSE) has promoted the valorisation and protection of educational\r\nheritage, integrating academic approaches and civil society involvement. This contributin\r\nexplores historical-educational heritage as a key resource for the Public History\r\nof Education, focusing on experiences, good practices and new perspectives that emerged\r\nduring the third SIPSE Congress, held at the Catholic University of Milan (December\r\n2023). The essays collected in the volume offer an interdisciplinary panorama ranging\r\nfrom theoretical analysis to educational design, emphasising the role of communication\r\nand participation in heritage valorisation processes. Key themes include the interacion\r\nbetween cultural and educational institutions, the pedagogical potential of historicaleducational\r\nsources and the importance of engaging specific audiences to promote shared\r\nnarratives and historical awareness. Particular attention is paid to the participatory approach,\r\nin line with the principles of the Faro Convention, which values cultural heritage\r\nas a resource for social cohesion. The volume reflets an evolving state of the art, combining\r\nadvances studies with experimental initiaves. It represents an invitation to continue\r\nin the direction of Public History, an approach capable of responding to contemporary\r\nchalleges, connecting memory, identity and education
