Abstract
In 2013 and 2014 in the Po Plain south of Bergamo eight tombs were brought to light. The five in a group at the centre of the area\r\ncontained wooden structures and grave goods (and food offerings); they date to the late 6th century and seem to belong to a\r\nfamily (adult male and children), buried with clearly non-local funerary rites of Barbaric culture. A further three burials in simple\r\ngrave-cuts at the edge of the area might be contemporary, but of individuals of different origin, culture or status.\r\nA few hundred metres away laid the great “fornovo San Giovanni” cemetery discovered in the 19th century, on the Cantacucco\r\nestate, now in the municipal district of Caravaggio, frazione Masano.
