Abstract
The so called 'Relazione' written by Antonio Pigafetta is the fullest narrative of the first circumnavigation of the world, started by Ferdinand Magellan and completed by Juan Sebastian Elcano (1519-1522). Experience and literature and literature mix in Pigafetta's writing, and his account is a real book, not a simple diary. This essay gives some clues to the interpretation of text focalizing on the main stages of the voyage.
