Abstract

The book is the result of an original work of historical reconstruction through private documents and material from public archives. Using source material family, the editor has highlighted the personal experience of Massimo Borruso, colonial official in years of fascist empire, until the tragic end of the defeat and imprisonment. The work is also a useful tool for knowledge and study of new aspects of the story of Italian prisoners in colonial territories and helps to free up memory by historical trends that surface removal with the increasing detachment time. The book penetrates well in the experience of an all generation, historicizing what had been seen as myth and illusion.
