Phrases such as ius praetorium praesidibus and ius praesidale in the biographies of Probus and Tetricus be explained in the framework of the development of definitions, by the historiography of the fourth and fifth centuries AD, the new institutional figures and their prerogatives arisen since the reform and military administrative studied by Gallienus.
