Abstract

In May without the Pink Race: a unique precedent in 1946 In 2020, for the first time since 1946, the Giro d'Italia was not held on May, but in a new edition in October. Only in 1946 had it been moved by a few weeks. The entire UCI (International Cycling Union) calendar was upset by the COVID-19, thus changing the narrative and rituals that traditionally link two-wheeled sport to Italy.
