Abstract
During the Second World War, Pope Pius XII delivered a series of speeches every Christmas. These speeches influenced Italian Catholic intellectuals, who were preparing a new political culture for the postwar period. Even Giuseppe Lazzati participated in this process in house meetings Padovani.
