Abstract
The socio-cultural context of the XXI century is characterized by new elements, such as physical events occurred, social movements, the bursting of technology, the fall of old paradigms and the emergence of different forms of expression. Does this affect the Physical Educacion? Where does PE goes to? This essay addresses these questions. Starting with the description of the current status of Physical Education, the article explains the changes required for the configuration of the "modern" Physical Education and identifies the innovations needed to adapt it to new socio-cultural demands.
