Abstract
During the last two decades the number of foreign students of first or second generation has grown in Italian schools.\r\nThis phenomenon has directed school principals and teachers towards the implementation of projects to include these children in compulsory education. In our schools in fact, these kids attend the same classes their same age mates do but they also take part in special workshops to learn or improve Italian. After this first period in which they have learned the daily speaking language helped by specific teachers, they have to make a big effort in order to study different subjects with their specific lexicon and structure.\r\nThis didactic guide was conceived to compare and share direct experiences of the Authors but also too explore the vastness of authoritative publications in the Language teaching. It recognizes the need to provide practical support for the teachers of the various disciplines to help their non-native Italian speaker students to approach a subject. It mainly provides strategies\r\nto simplify texts and to improve specific skills in the study language.
