Goti a Goito? Considerazioni su reperti riconduciili alla cultura Černjachov/ Sîntana de Mureş nella necropoli di Sacca di Goito (MN)

Historical and epigraphic sources prove the presence in northern Italy of different “barbarian” ethnic groups between the 4th and the first half of the 5th century. At that time hostile incursions and the recruitment in the army of single individuals or whole bands of foederati cause the temporary or definitive settlement of family groups of German origin. So far, archaeology hasn’t found many evidences about this reality; in fact it has shown few and occasional finds. \r\nThe necropolis found in 1993-94 at Sacca di Goito shows for the first time a series of burial which dates back to the end of the 4th century with equipments which refer to the material culture of Goths and Alans and suggest the presence of a barbarian force settled with its families to control the Postumia road.
