Abstract
In the first years of XIX century, the bookseller Pietro Brandolese wanted to prepare the annals of the XV century books printed in Padua. He died before the end of his work, but the reading of his manuscript reveals a strong attention for the material aspects of the books, not usual in that period. Infact in the same years Fortunato Federici, librarian and benedectin monk in Padua, did not show the same ideas in his studies about the Paduan incunabulas
