Abstract

Within the yearly report on the city of Milan promoted by the “Fondazione Ambrosianeum”, this essay focuses the attention on the new and growing immigration phenomena. Besides some statistical information, it offers a synthesis of the results of the main empirical researches. Finally, it stresses the fact that migrants’ could be at the same time a problem or a resource for the economic and the social system, mostly depending on the contents of local policies.
