Abstract
Giuseppe Carboni was the typical exponent of the generation of Latin teachers active at the turn of 20th century. This critical profile reconstructs the biographical events of his life and his activity as a scholar and teacher, focusing on the theoretical contribution he made to the debate on the teaching of Latin that animated Italian culture at the time.
