Abstract
Roman literary, legal and papyrological sources provide a wide range of information on Roman jewellery. Some of them are usually related to coin-set jewellery (pendants, bracelets, rings). The aim of the paper is to compare those source with the realia, i.e. the coin jewellery that survived. The conclusion of the essay is that no literary source is undoubtedly linked to this particular type of Roman jewellery.
