Abstract
Critics have so far recognized the many analogies that the poetry of Gaspara Stampa shows with Boccaccio’s Elegia di Madonna Fiammetta and with Ovid’s Heroides. This paper expands the spectrum of the analysis to determine whether, beyond the links with those two models, Stampa’s poetry can be placed within a broader network of analogies with texts related to the tradition of the italian elegy. This also means reconsidering the books that Gaspara Stampa could read and her culture.
