Abstract

A few decades ago, many places in Valtellina, now considered tourist destinations, had economies based on subsitence agriculture. This was the case for Teglio, a town renowned even outside its province as a destination for gastro-tourism. How changed the agricultural system when tourism started to show its impact on the local economy?
