This essay provides a synthesis of the research-report published in the volume “Famiglie sotto esame. Una ricerca sull’immigrazione italiana in Germania e l’esperienza scolastica delle nuove generazioni” (edited by the Authors). This contribution is published in the same volume both in Italian and in German.
