Abstract
The impact of media and digital technologies, increasingly integrated into our daily lives, redefines family relationships. From an educational point of view it is important to grasp how these processes affect practices and rituals of family life, change the bonds between generations and act on the transmission of values.
The key issues that characterize the educational dynamics between parents and children therefore take on unprecedented aspects. Exemplary is the issue of child control, which is presented with new complexities dictated by the use of visual media. The article proposes a reflection on the challenges posed by multimedia tools, including how they can be used to accompany the process of childhood autonomy and support parenting functions.
