Abstract
Two dramatic Italian floods took place around the Sardinia town of Olbia on 17-19\r\nNovember 2013 and in Genoa on 9-10 October 2014.\r\nThese are two interesting case studies on floods due to their specific social impact, crisis\r\ncommunication, disaster management and disaster resilience practices, taking into account their\r\ndifferent geographical areas, communities and institutional systems.\r\nA secondary data analysis of these two critical events has been conducted considering the\r\ntheoretical principles of visual sociology, while a methodological framework has been adopted\r\naccording to the principles of the secondary data analysis itself.
