Abstract

In societies that are defined as "more advanced", the scientific and technological advances have led to an ever greater automation of the majority of the working processes and the "welfare" is by many seen as the ability to work effortlessly. The practical consequence is that the ability to work has increased significantly thanks to the machines, but life has become for many very sedentary. The sedentary lifestyle and automated undoubtedly presents many advantages, but on the other hand implies some side effects particularly harmful to health. In fact, the damage caused by a sedentary lifestyle are known to all: weight gain, decreased efficiency of the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system, blood pressure, risk of heart attack, etc ..., all seasoned with high-calorie diet, smoking and alcohol that increase exponentially the risk of permanent disability. Faced with this situation, doctors and researchers have come quickly to the conclusion that regular exercise is a protective factor, which effectively counteracts the development of many chronic diseases associated with a sedentary lifestyle. Here, then develop the concept of working to ensure the well-being, both physical and intellectual and at the same time, has a preventive effect against the major cardiovascular diseases. The concept of "Cardiofitness", namely aerobic exercise for fitness originates from these considerations and especially by the observation that aerobic exercise improves health status. Aerobic exercise for fitness is not a sport and is not a rehabilitation However, in many cases, that will be addressed in the special sections, may happen to operate in the gym of people suffering from various forms of pathology, such as for example the heart condition, the diabetic, etc. ... In these cases the cardio will be proposed on medical indication, exclusively with the aim of improving the quality of life and to mitigate the risk associated with the reduction of the movement
