Abstract
NICU environment context and the uncertainty of the ELBW preterm infant's wellness affect parental attitudes. A very preterm birth entails high levels of parental anxiety and depression.
The objectives of the paper are to describe psychological status of the parents of ELBW preterms during hospitalization and after discharge and compare it with term infant parent's experience at discharge from the nursery and at home. As the main result of the paper it is found that the depression and anxiety levels in preterm parents reduce in time.
