Abstract

This study examines the pivotal role of education in fostering ecological transition, emphasising the necessity of equipping future generations with the knowledge and skills to effectively address the climate crisis and global food inequities in alignment with the objectives set forth in Agenda 2030. It considers mechanisms such as the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and the Next Generation EU as potential catalysts for sustainable transformation, while asserting that their efficacy is contingent upon robust integration within educational frameworks. Such frameworks are vital for encouraging sustainable practices, facilitating the uptake of innovative technologies and fostering a globally responsible citizenship capable of navigating complex, systemic challenges. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of sustainable food education in addressing inequities, proposing that it supports lifestyles that respect environmental limits and advocate for equitable resource distribution. Through a pedagogical model grounded in sustainability, this work envisions an inclusive ecological transition committed to advancing the common good.
