Abstract
Pursuing sustainability means educating human beings to pursue new existential trajectories, capable of promoting conscious and creative participation in the life of our planet, while resisting the unsustainable pressures of a separate and disconnected self. Our relationship with the world is an opportunity for mutual growth, based on a fundamental willingness to embrace diversity. The horizon of sustainability challenges us to overcome paradigms that divid, separate and disconnect, and entrusts education with a fundamental role in promoting processes of deconstruction and reconfiguration, capable of generating creative reinterpretations of existence and developing dialogical ethics. Every educational act is, after all, a creative act, in that it encompasses imaginative capacity, the search for meaning, participation and transformation: essential dimensions for giving meaning to one's own existence, but also for allowing every form of otherness to express its own.
