Abstract
Based on an initial analysis of the 1946 census, the aim is to provide a first snapshot, at urban and district level, of the urban heritage and housing stock left by the government of a podestà in Milan. From the study of the characteristics of the buildings and the dates of their construction, we intend to verify the suggestions made in the literature, giving a first assessment of the different sensitivities towards the issue of affordable housing of the municipal administrations that governed.
