Abstract
The spread of obesity (globesity) has been declared a worldwide epidemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). More\r\nthan 1 billion adults are overweight and at least 315 million are clinically obese. This epidemic has generated an unlimited\r\narray of weight-loss strategies. Obesity is now one of the most important public and clinical problems: it increases the risk of\r\nmany health complications such as hypertension, coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes, needs long-lasting treatment for\r\neffective results and involves high public and private costs (p. 204, (Castelnuovo et al., 2010))
