Abstract
This review focuses on an edited collection by Sandie Mourao and Monica Lourenço entitled Early Years Second Language Education: International Perspectives on Theory and Practice. The book defines ‘early’ learners as those up to the age of six and as far as the editors are aware, is the first to socus on this age group. Other studies define young learners as children up to the age of 12 or even 14. The chapters in the book cover a wide range of methodologies and approaches, as well as issues concerned with policymaking and teacher training.
